Be Our Refuge

Lord God, who has been the rock of our salvation and our hiding place throughout all generations, as we come to you in prayer, be our refuge now from the noise of the world and the cares of our spirits.  Grant us your peace.  Do not let the darkness of our ignorance nor the folly of our sorrow and sin hide you from us.  Help us sense your nearness that we might draw our thoughts back to your goodness.  Speak to each of us the word we need, and let your word abide in us until it has wrought in us your holy will.  Refresh our hearts, renew our strength, so that we may be able to serve you faithfully this day and in the days to come.  In the name of Jesus, we pray.  Amen.
