Sharing Of Gifts

Gracious God, as the light of your love bathes us in life again this day, grant us love for our work, strength to bear abundant fruit  and trust to wait patiently for direction from you.  Let true gladness of heart increase through generous sharing of the gifts which you have given for the salvation of the world.  In Jesus Name we pray.  Amen.

O Divine Companion

O Divine Companion, be especially close to those who are grief stricken, or facing death or sickness.  Help them to know that you are as close to them as breath itself, and that you care for them.  Give them the assurance that through your life, death, resurrection and ascension, you have overcome the world.  Give all of us the strength of your Spirit, so that in the face of tribulation our faith will not grow weak.  In Jesus' Name we pray.  Amen.

Fill Us With Conviction

Almighty God, giver of all Grace,  deliver us, we pray, from all coldness of heart and wanderings of mind, that with steadfast thoughts and kindled affections we may walk with you every day in spirit and truth.  In Jesus' Name we pray.  Amen.

The Way, The Truth, The Life

Lord Christ, our Savior and Friend you have shown us the Way that leads to a full life.  Fill us with a yearning to walk with you so that by following in the Way we may be bathed in your light of truth and righteousness, while you- the Way, the Truth and the Life -  guide us and protect us from all evil.  Praise be unto you, the sacrificial Lamb.  Amen.

Thanksgiving for our Families and Friends

Gracious God, who provides so wondrously and wisely for us, in awe and thankfulness we praise you for our families and friends.  Priceless treasures have flowed into our lives through the tears, laughter, and prayers of loved ones.  As your heirs, we acknowledge that the best we have is not our own but has been given to us as a holy trust.  May we always treasure the gift of love.  In Jesus Name we pray.  Amen.

Thanksgiving For Your Compassionate Son

Almighty God we praise you for all your deeds of strength and glory.  We especially offer up thanksgiving for our compassionate Son who came into this world to over come the  powers of Sin and death, and to call us into your kingdom which starts here in this life and extends for all of eternity.  Accept our undying gratitude for the promise of a reunion with loved ones in your glorious Home in heaven.  In Jesus name we do pray.  Amen.

Make Us One

Newness of Life

Everlasting God, whose glory is enthroned in the heavens and touches the earth with beauty; we praise you that your Spirit of life and power invades all creation and dwells in our souls.  You have made everything beautiful in its time and put eternity into our hearts.  We adore you for your love in Jesus Christ, coming to us like the joy, the hope and the promise of an everlasting springtime.  In his most glorious Name we do pray.  Amen.

Give Us The Assurance

O Divine Companion, be especially close to us to open our eyes when we seem blind to the truth, and to open our hearts to your spirit, when the cares of the world have crowdwed you out!  Give to those in Boston who have lost loved ones or were wounded by terrorist bombs, the assurance that you will never desert them but will fill their lives with your love and healing.  Where sickness or defeat cause our spirits to grow faint, instill in us the healing strength of your presence.  Humbly, we pray in your most blessed name.  Amen.

Lord of Life

O Lord of life, we praise you that you reign in our hearts.  We thank you that your goodness and mercy endures even beyond the horrors of crucifixion or the shadow of death.  O blessed Christ, take the dimness of our souls away.  Let your comfort and your guiding be as the sunshine on a spring morning.  May your forgiveness of our sins bring a new surge of power for fresh growth toward a fuller life serving in your kingdom.  In your most blessed name we pray.  Amen.

Light To The World

O blessed Redeemer and Lord, Jesus Christ, who came to bring light to the world as a new dawn brings light to a new day; We thank and praise you for your glorious resurrection. Lead Us In The Way of Service

O God, who through the resurrection of your Son Jesus Christ from the dead, has delivered us from the power of darkness and into the Kingdom of your love, Grant, we pray, that as by his death he has he has called us to new life, so by his presence ever abiding in us may he raise us to joys eternal.  through him who for our sakes died and rose again, and is ever with us in power and great glory.  Amen.

Evidences of Your Resurrection

We thank you for all the evidences of your resurrection, O Christ:  for the forces of good which are now at work in the world; for the heroism of those who do not fear death or imprisonment in spreading your gospel; for the power of truth to crush evil and to abide; for your Word which convicts our consciences; and for the vigilance of your Spirit which keeps us from straying from your Way.  In Your most Blessed Name we pray.  Amen.

Make Us One In Fellowship

Eternal God, who has shared with us your glorious life in Christ: Accompany us always on the lonely and troubled ways of life.  Make us one with others in a fellowship which reaches across the separations of sin and death.  Lift our eyes beyond buried hopes and dying dreams to your life of righteousness and love that abides forever!  Make us blessed in not having seen, yet believing that the risen Christ is the Lord of an everlasting kingdom.  In his Name we pray.  Amen.

The Power of the Resurrection

O Resurrected Christ, who appeared to your diciples when the world seemed desolate, make your presence known to us today, that we too, might shout with joy, "He is risen!  He is risen indeed!!"  We praise you for reclaiming us with your redeeming love and forgiveness and offering us the power of the resurrection and new life.  With your kingdom's might link our lives with the life everlasting.  Fill us as you did your disciples of long ago, with the strengrth and courage of  your resurrected life which has overcome our enslavement to things that pass away with the world.  Impart unto us now in this life the throbbing joy of inseparable fellowship with you and with all who love in your name in heaven and on earth.  Amen.

Redeeming Love

Almighty and most merciful God, who in compassion for your children did come in Jesus Christ in redeerming love to free us from the bonds of Sin and to bear in our place the suffering caused by our failure to remain true to your covenant of love; we praise you and adore you and thank you for your redeeming love.  For his bitter conflict with the powers of darkness and his eternal victory over Sin and death, may all glory, honor and power be unto him for ever and for ever. Amen.

You Alone Are Good

Merciful God our Father, on this Good Friday we confess that only you are good.  We adore you for your amazing love for us in Jesus Christ.   We stand in awe at the foot of the cross weighed down with shame knowing that it was our sin that made the cross necessary for our salvation.  O God we acknowledge that we are your children only because of your everlasting love.  O Christ, in you we know a righteousbness from God, comnig not to condemn but to save us and to give itself to be our own.  We pray in your most blessed name.  Amen.

Thanks For Redemption

Loving God, our Eternal Friend, we thank you for your Son Jesus Christ who through his sacrifice bridged the gap that had developed between us and you because of our Sin.  On our behalf he submitted to mockery, cruelties and death.  Accept our undying gratitude for making redemption and eternal salvation possible for each of us.  In his most blessed name, we pray.  Amen.

Increase Our Compassion

O Christ, who came to heal the hurt of the world and who reached out in mercy to the least and the lowest, grant that we might have that kind of compassion for the world of our day.  Fortify the  hands which seek to destroy prejudice, poverty and ignorance.  Compel us to spread abroad the love of God until the whole world knows of your saving grace.  In your most blessed Name we ask it.  Amen.

Keep Us near

Almighty God, Lord of Peace and giver of rest; Grant to us your light, that we may behold your glory and grow in your likeness.  Enable us to know the depth of your goodness and your mercy which is everlasting. Keep us ever aware of your nearness so we do not stray from following your path for us.  In Jesus' Name we pray.  Amen. 

The Word We Need

Speak to us the Word we need to hear, O God.  Let Your Word abide in us that your Will might be done.  Cleanse and strengthen our hearts; direct and increase our faith.Grant that we may be able to see You more clearly and love You more deeply and to serve You more faithfully.  In Jesus Name we pray.  Amen.

We Seek Your Blessing

Gracious God, in whom we live and move and have our being, who reveals yourself in every aspect of your universe:  Grant to us, who now seek your blessing, help from above and open mind within, that our thoughts and feelings may be full of reverence and love for you.  In Jesus' Name we pray.  Amen.

For The Sick

Loving and compassionate God; Hear our prayers for the sick who look to you for strength and healing.  Let your compassion comfort those suffering under illness.  Renew their courage.  Renew their strength.  Give them patience and unshakable faith in your loving presence.  And if it be your will, touch them with your healing spirit and bring them newness of life once more.  In Jesus Name. we pray.  Amen.

Enlarge Our Faith

God of Grace and God of Glory; Enlarge our faith to see  how your redeeming purpose stands above the defeats and victories of the wrold.  To this end bless everyone who has come to the cross to find direction for his/her confused soul.  May those who are weary and disraught receive your peace which the world cannot gve.  Let none be hestant to come to you.  May none fail to turn from evil to good and from indecision to the choice of the truth which sets life free.  May the fellowship of the Spirit strengthen the weak and use the strong.  We pray it all in the Name of Jesus.  Amen.

Praise for Christ's Sacrifice

Lord Jesus our Saviour, who loved us even unto death on the cross; We glorify you for redeeming us through your sacrifice.  For every burden you bore, for every battle you fought, for every tear you shed, for every agony you suffered, for every word of consolation you ever uttered, for bearing our griefs and carrying our sorrows we give you glory and praise for the victory you have won for us all.  Amen.

That We May Follow

Infinite God, our Father, whose tender mercy is revealed for all in your Son Jesus Christ: We come to you in fairh, not because of our worthiness but because your goodness invites us.  As we look at Christ's  endurance and faith throughout pain and death, we see a mercy which makes us realize that we have not loved you nor our neighbors with our whole heart.  We have complained about our small burdens when Christ bore the sins of the whold world!  Speak to us a word of forgiveness and create in us clean hearts and renew a right spirit within us.  We pray in Christ's most blessed name.  Amen.

Almighty God, who has given us Jesus Christ as our Lord and Savior;Help us to yield ourselves unto you, that with body, soul and spirit we may truly serve you and in your service find our deepest joy.  In Jesus' Name we pray.  Amen.

We thank you Gracious Savior, O Lamb of God, for taking away the sins of the world.  We are especially grateful for your Love and Mercy expressed in your Holy Word, and in the life you lived here on earth with us.  We praise your most blessed Name, in which we find salvation.  Walk with us always, so that even when times are troublesome, or painful and uncertain, we will take heart knowing you are by our side.  In your Name we offer this prayer.  Amen.

God of All

Gracious and Loving God, who came to us in Jesus of Nazareth to teach us that it is your will that all your children be gathered into your eternal kingdom; We pray for the church universal today, that Roman Catholics and Protestants may both be blessed by the leadership of Pope Francis.  May your Spirit rest upon him, and may he lead all of Christendom into unity of purpose and mission.  Let him be faithful in his calling to help lead the churh universal in paths of righteousness and peace.  And may the church world wide be blessed by his leadership.  We pray in the name of Jesus Christ our Lord.  Amen.

Lord God, who has been the rock of our salvation and our hiding place throughout all generations, as we come to you in prayer, be our refuge now from the noise of the world and the cares of our spirits.  Grant us your peace.  Do not let the darkness of our ignorance nor the folly of our sorrow and sin hide you from us.  Help us sense your nearness that we might draw our thoughts back to your goodness.  Speak to each of us the word we need, and let your word abide in us until it has wrought in us your holy will.  Refresh our hearts, renew our strength, so that we may be able to serve you faithfully this day and in the days to come.  In the name of Jesus, we pray.  Amen.

Walk With Us!

O Master of life and Redeemer of the world, we would follow anew your leading through opposition and hatred, through trial and disgrace, through Gethsemane and Calvary, until we behold how your way of the cross brings us the forgiveness, the life, and the victory that is in God.  Walk with us, good Lord, and courage will beat in our feeble hearts.  Lay your hands on us and joy and peace will rule our troubled spirits.  We humbly pray in your  most blessed Name.  Amen.

Help Us Walk In Your Way

Eternal God, whose paths reach through day and night and encompass the ends of the earth, We thank you that in Jesus Christ you have shown us that you walk beside us every step of our lives!  Often we have run from your presence in selfish pursuits, not knowing that we were removing ourselves from the dearest and the best.  Our feverish and uncertain pace needs the steady rhythm of things that abide.  Where we have sunk in the mire of temptation and have lost our foothold on slippery promises of the world, we need to be drawn to the firm foundations of your Kingdom.  Reach out to us, O Lord, and save us from our own foolishness.  In Jesus' Name we pray.  Amen.

Let Us Not Rest Until We Rest In You

Arouse, O God, within every one of us a zeal to bring the message of your love in Jesus Christ to our friends and neighbors.  May we never be content with what we are donig to build your Kingdom on earth.  Lord, we have committed our lives to you, therefore may we never rest until we rest in you and invite others also into this fellowship of love.  Call us and lead us, Good Shepherd, through the gate that leads to eternal life.  In your holy name we ask it.  Amen.

For The Poor, Homkeless and Neglected

Almighty and most merciful God, shed your Fatherly goodness on all that you have made.  Remember in your mercy all those who are destitute, homeless  or forgotten.  Uplift those who are cast down.  Cheer with hope all discouraged and unhapy people.  If they are troubled on every side, give them strength and perseverance so as not to succumb to dismay.  If they are perplexed, give them the wisdom of your Spirit that they may experience new truths from your presence.  Grant this O Lord, for the sake of the love of Jesus Christ our Lord, in whose Name we pray.  Amen.

Cast Out Our Sin

Great God, who came to us in Jesus Christ to bring us closer to you; Touch our hearts and cast out every evil thought, every base desire, all envy and pride and hyprocrisy, all falsehood, all deceit, all worldly desire and all that is contrary to your Holy Will.  In Jesus' name, we pray.  Amen.

Send Us Your Caring Spirit

During this Lenten Season, O Lord, we remember how in the midst of the pain of body and soul you still cared for others, even your enemies.  Give us grace to let our own discomforts or hardships bring appreciation of the need and distress of others.  Have mercy upon the sick that they may obtain faith to endure and receive strength from medicine and sleep.  Comfort the sorrowing and let them see your everpresent Love at work healing thier broken hearts.  We pray in your most blessed Name.  Amen.

Let The Compassion of the Cross Rule in our Hearts

Heavenly Mother/Father, help us to keep the great riches and blessings of our day from crucifynig you afresh.  Save us from the madness of vengeance and from the foolishness of impatience.  Teach us that we cannot bring your Love to the world until we have first let the Love and compassion of the cross rule in our hearts.  Make us to be companions with you in all of life.  In Jesus' Name we pray.  Amen.

Grant Us Faith

Precious Lord, take my hand.  May that prayer always be with us, Dear God, to remind us that no matter how frightening life can become, we need not fear because you are always with us.  May our comfort come, not from any human power, but from the power of your Spirit dwelling in our hearts.  Grant us such faith, Lord of the uiverse.  In Jesus' Name we pray.  Amen.

How Wondrous Are Your Works

Creator God, when we view the vastness of your creaton, we cannot comprehend the magnitude of your creative genius and power, and we are humbled that we can even communite with you through prayer.  How wondrous are your works!  Like the Psalmist of old, we cry out "What is man that you are mindful of him??"  Yet you have shown your love for us through the centuries by establishing a covenant of love with us that you fulfilled for us through the sacrificial death of your Son, Jesus Christ.  There are not words enough to praise you or thank you for that Love!!  So we offer our lives in obedience to you - use them to glorify your Name.  In Jesus' Name we pray.  Amen,

Grant Us The Assistance Of Your Spirit

Lord God, who knows the weakness of our nature; grant us the continual assistance of your Holy Spirit, that we might resist the many temptations we face every day.  Imprint on our hearts and minds your saving Word, that we might follow the leading of Scripture which revealas your Will through the teachings of our Lord Jesus Christ.  May we be endowed with such a grateful sense of your Goodness, that we do our very best to  please you and to serve one another.  This we ask in the Name of Jesus Christ, our Lord and Savior.  Amen.

Your Salvation Is Our Hope

O Christ, you lightened the burdens of humanity; teach us to bear one another's burdens and so fulfill your law.  Forbid that we should think of your cross as being distant from any of us.  Lord, in your salvation of the world is our hope; let our hope become known to all the world.  Make us partners in your mission by gratefully sharing the gift of new life that was born when you gave your life for us all. In your most blessed Name, we offer this prayer.  Amen.

For Greater Love

Eternal God, who is worthy of a greater love than we can either give or understand; help us in this sacred season of Lent, by granting us grace and knowledge, to love you more and more.  Put into our hearts a continual desire to obey your will, and give us grace and power to fulfill the same.  In Jesus' Name we pray.  Amen.

King of Creation

Gracious King of all creation, we gratefully come to you in prayer to be in the presence of your redeeming Love and strengthening Spirit.  Thank you for reaching out to us with your saving grace in Christ Jesus our Lord.  During this Lenten Season we remind ourselves of our need for forgiveness, and of your willoingness to come to us with your steadfast Love shown through his sacrifice on the Cross.  We are humbled by your steadfast love and encouraged to take that love and share it with all whom we meet and with whom we live.  Grant us the wisdom and the courage to walk in your way always.  In Jesus Name we pray.  Amen.

Comfort Us In Our Suffering

Compassionate God, it is a beautiful day today - but we know that for many, this is another day of suffering.  Comfort those who are afflicted with physical, mental or spiritual pain.  When your Son, Jesus, came to you in anguish before his crucifixion, you sent angels to minister unto him and give him strength.  We look to you with the same longing for support in our days of trouble - may we feel the presence of your angels around us, upholding us, comforting us.  Be with all of us today and in the days ahead as we suffer or seek to help those who are suffering.  May we be your angels of mercy ministering unto therm.  In Jesus' Name we pray.  Amen.

Like the sun bathes the earth and brings new life to every living thing, so you loving Spirit brings new life to all who call on you in prayer.  Thanks by unto you for that unspeakable gift of love!!  As we begin this new day, we open our hearts and minds to the widsom of your Word found in scripture - illumine us to see you in every aspect of life today.  Encourage us to have the courage to follow your leading no matter how uncertain it might be.  Give us complete and unshakable trust in your loving kindness, that we stray not from the course of life you have laid out for each one of us.  Help us to be faithful children.  In Christ's Name we pray.  Amen.

Behold Your Immeasureable Love

God our Father, who sent your only begotten Son to bring your saving Life to a sin-filled world;  open the eyes of our souls to behold your immeasurable love.  We have no merit to plead our need.  In Christ's sacrifice you forever offer redemption to your c hildren.  Guide our minds to learn of your Christ, and incline our hearts to believe in him.  We pary in Jesus' Name.  Amen.

All Loving God, thank you for this beautiful new day.  May we use it to bring glory to your name.  We know that for millions around the world, this day will be filled with pain and suffering and death.  Be with those to comfort and uphold them in their dire need.  May you open our hearts to ways that we can reach out and help.  And may we share a kind and uplifting word with all those whom we meet today.  In Jesus Name we pray.  Amen.

Teach Us Your Ways, O Lord

Teach us your ways,  O Lord, that we may follow the way of wisdom through all the temptations and pitfalls of life.  Yourf way leads to fulfillment and inward joy and peace - show us that way.  We would be yours forever, yet we often look to false avenues of life for fulfillment, and find emptiness instead.  Give us the insight to avoid doing that.  Let us find our greatest joy in being with you in all of life.  In Jesus Name we pray.   Amen.

"My Thoughts Are Not Your Thoughts"

Almighty God, through the words of Isaiah You have taught us that Your thoughts are not our thoughts and our ways are not Your ways.  Yet we continue to question why things happen contrary to what we think is best.  Like Job, show us the expanse of Your creation, O Lord, and remnd us that You are indeed in command of all that happens, and that someday we will understand why You have guided us as You have.  Fill us with Your Love that we may trust You explicitly.  In Jesus' Name we pray.  Amen.

God of all Mercy and Might

God of all mercy and might, we come to your throne in prayer today for all those people in Northeastern United States as a historical blizzard bears down on them.  We know the power of nature -   no one can stand aganst such furry!  We implore you to be with them to guide and protect them from harm.  Many are still trying to recover from Hurricane Sandy, and are in desperate need of your help, O loving Father.  Move the hearts of all of to reach out and help them in whatever ways we can.  But even with the best we humans can do, only you have the power and compassion to protect them. Humbly we ask it in the name of Jesus.  Amen.

Great and  Gracious God, when we look at the wonder of your creation, how can we ever doubt that you are in control of our lives, and that you love us enough to watch out for us?  Forgive us for our lack of faith, and rebirth our faith in your providence.  Graciously lead us in the way of life which leads to your kingdom, and give us the courage to follow your guidance.  Thank you for pursuing us when we wander from your presence, and may we be yours forever.  In Jesus' Name we pray.  Amen.

Still Our Troubled Minds

Lord of the universe, we get so caught up in the bad news we see every day, that we begin to despair.  Still our troubled minds with the soothing power of your Spirit.  Give us insight to see beyond the news of this world, to the good news from Christ who assured us that he has over come the world.  Let your light shine in and through us, chasing the darkness away and showing us the path you have chosen for us.  Help us to remember the we have nothing to fear because you walk beside us every step of our lives.   Praise be to you, our gracious God.  In Jesus Name we pary.  Amen,

Set Our Lives On A Sure Course

Everlasting God our Father, whose love the darkness cannot overcome and whose goodness the darkness cannot hide; set our lives on a sure course like stars in the night.  Unless you pour into our souls the oil of faith, our spiritts are but flickering lights blowing in the wind!  Let the light of your Son Jesus Christ shine on us so we can see the way you would have us follow.  Warm our hearts, inspire our spirits and strengthen our understanding that with new courage we may go forth as servants of the cross that redeems.  In Jesus' Name we pray.  Amen.

Hear Our Cries

Hear our cries, O Lord, as we struggle with so many sensless killings of the innocent, and so many violent crimes. 
Encourage our failing hearts with the assurance that you are still Lord of the universe, and that evil will not overcome the light you brought into our world through your Son Jesus Christ. 
Comfort, also, all those who are mourning the loss of their loved ones through death.  Help them see through their tears your promise of eternal life.

Great Is Your Faithfulness

 Great is your faithfulness, O Lord our savior!  In deep humility we come to you in prayer today, seeking to align ourselves with the powerful flow of your Spirit.  Hearken unto our prayers both written and hidden within our hearts where only you can enter.  There is so much in life that is frightening - we are not safe any longer in our own homes, and our children are at risk every day.  Show us how we can stand up against evil in our society, and make the world a place of peace.  Give us the courage to stand for what is right and the strength to pursue righteousness, that your Kingdom might become a reality in our time.  We thank you for being present in human history, always guiding us in those paths that lead to happiness and fulfillment of our lives.  Guide us today.  In Jesus Name we pray.  Amen.

Show Us The Way

God of infinite wisdom and power, thank you for this new day.  You know what will face us today, so we ask that you show us the way to fulfill your plans for our day.  Help us to feel close to you all day, and to be wise enough to discern your guiding hand in everything we do.  May your Spirit enable us to have the strength to follow your leading and to bring glory to your Name as we find fulfillment for our lives.  In Jesus' Name we pray.  Amen.

Awesome God

Awesome God, from the minutest microb of your creation to the unlimited vastness of the galaxies, your creative power causes us to tremble inj awe!  Yet, by your grace, you came to earth to share our life with us in Jesus Christ and to call us unto yourself through your loving act of sacrifice in his life death and resurrection.  That causes us even greater awe!!  You are so vast in  your existence, that our limited minds are incapable of experiencing you, so you came to us in human form that we might be assured of your love for us, and of your continual presence with us.  Awesome God, we love you because you first loved us.  All praise and glory be unto you.  In Jesus name we offer our praise and thanksgiving.  Amen.

Gracious God

Forgiving and Gracious God, who welcomes every daughter and son who comes to you in prayer; we open our hearts to you today to see if there be any wicked way in us, and ask you to cleanse our hearts.  Even when we are too ashamed to come to you asking for forgiveness, you already are searching us out, meeting us wherever we go to bring us your love and forgiveness.  We praise you that through the goodness you lavish upon us, we are strengthened to live more righteous lives, and through your love, you bring us into closer communion with you.  How wondrous are your ways, how saving is your grace!  Thanks be unto you, O God our strength and our redeemer.  In Jesus Name we pray.  Amen.

Strength To Follow Your Leading

Gracious God we come to you in prayer in the confidence that you hear our prayers and will always answer us.  Thank you for making it possible for us to avail ourselves of your love and power through prayer.  We humbly and joyously praise your name, and invoke your guidance and blessing for this new day.  Make us aware of those avenues of service which you would have us follow, and give us strength and courge to always follow your leading.  We pray in the name of Jesus.  Amen.

Protect The Homeless

Merciful God, when it is bitter cold like today, my heart goes out to those who are homeless.  Move the hearts of others as well, that we might provide relief for them through shelter, Motel Room stays and food served at many shelters.  Do not let us be well-wishers only, but actively involved as  Your agents to bring the needy relief.  Help us to protect the homeless.  In Jesus' Name we pray.  Amen.

Cast Out Any Evil

As the icy cold fingers of this January day grip the heart of our midwest and northern states, O Lord, we are reminded of how quickly the cold grip of evil in our lives can squeeze out the warmth of love, compassion and neighborliness and make our hearts cold and our lives self-centered.  Help us to reach out to your love which brings warmth and life into our world.  Cast our any evil thoughts or behavior in our lives that builds walls of hostility and separates us from your Grace and from our neighbor.  Warm our lives with your presence.  In Jesus Name we pray.  Amen.

We Will Follow God

Loving God, thank you for this beautiful new day.  Our whole future lies before us - be it short or long!  As we stand on the threshold of this new day, may we follow the example of Joshua as the Israelites entered into Canaan when he said, "as for me and my house, we shall choose to follow God."  Everyday we are faced with choices to make, and temptations to place other "gods" before you, O Lord.  Help us to see clearly that there are no other gods other than you.  Gods like success, or wealth, or drugs or sex and a host of other call out to us to give them our allegiance.  Lord, give us the wisdom and the strength to keep our minds and hearts focused on you and you alone.  We ask it in the Name of Jesus'.  Amen.

Bless Our President

Almighty God, on this the day of our President's  Inauguration, we recall how the great kings and great rulers throughout history, always looked to You for guidance, wisdom and strength in their leadership of their countries.  Be with our president Barack Obama, as he starts his second term as President of the United States that he might look to You as the true ruler of our country and of the world.  Bless our President with the wisdom You gave unto king Solomon so many centuries ago, that he might face all the enormous decisions that are before him and our nation and world.  May he lead us in the way of Peace.  May we follow his leading and through our prayers help him to be faithful to the Ruler of the Universe!  Bless our nation, also we pray, that we might continue to be a light to the other nations of the world, and that we neveer use our military power for our own gain, but only as a means to preserve Peace among all peoples.  We are in your Hands, O God, use us in the upbuilding of Your Kingdom on earth.  In Jesus' Name we do pray.  Amen.

Grant Us your Peace

God of all Grace: Grant us Your peace which passes all understanding, that the quietness that comes from walking with you might fill our souls.  As we withdraw for these few brief monents from the turmoils of life, help us to recover the strength we have lost, and pass victoriously  through all the troubles of this our earthly life.  We pray in the name of Jesus Christ our Lord.  Amen.

Children Of The Heavenly Father

Loving God, mother/father of us all, we delight every day in the knowledge that through the life, death, resurrection and reign of your Son Jesus the Christ, You have made us Your children!  Praise be unto You for Your immeasureable, steadfast Love!  Now, as Your children, in this new day guide us in the way you would have us follow.  In Your mercy, fill us with Your Holy Spirit that we might have the resolve to be faithful to our calling this beautiful day.  Work through our humble lives to bring light and Love into our world and to win more of your children into Your kingdeom.  In Jesus' Name we pray.  Amen.

We thank you, Heavy Father, for these days in which we are bound together intimately in the warmth of home and family.  We are grateful for all who minister to our comfort, safety and health.  Evoke in us daily appreciation for the tender care of human love.  We thank you for unselfish parents, for the love that binds husband and wife, for the trust of little children and for friends who enrich us with counsel and companionship.  For all these blessings, we give You thanks.  In jesus' Name we pay.  Amen.

Children of Peace and Justice

Gracious Lord, who has come to reveal yourself to us as a Lord of Love and compasssion, we thank you for coming to us in Jesus to teach us that your Way is Peace and not war.  Help us to learn that lesson, and to alter our lives accordingly, so we become children of the Prince of Peace!  May we bring your peace and Love into every avenue of our lives that our families may become a school wherein our children learn your Gospel of peace; our marriages a covenantal realationhip modeleed on your covenantal love for your children; our places of work the instrument whereby your justice and righteousness might be avenues bringing change to all of society and our lives patterened after the life of You our Savior.  We pray in your most blessed Name.  Amen.

Almighty God, author and finisher of our lives and all that is, we thank you for the privilege to come to you in prayer and to share the power of your Spirit.  Prepare us for this day and for all days to come.  Let your Grace enlighten our darkness and strengthen our weakness.  Inspire us with new purposes and hopes.  Deepen within our hearts love of truth and goodness.  Enable us to discern the solemn meaning of these earthly days and the high and sacred purpose for which we have been called.  In Jesus' Name we pray.  Amen.

Light of the World; ignite our souls so we are on fire with your Gospel and reaching out to bring light to a darkened world.  May we never be misled into believing that the little spark of faith in each of us doesn't make a difference in overcoming the powers of darkness.  Help us to believe that your Light can and does shine through us if only we live in you.  Bless us in our ministry that we might truly be children of light.  In Jesus' name we pray.  Amen.

Strength In The New Year

Merciful God: Be the help and comfort of all who have entered this new year in poverty, distress, sickness or grief over the loss of a loved one.  May they find in your Word, strength, comfort and guidance for the years ahead.  We would also pray for the new congress just sworn in, that your Spirit might guide them and fill them with your wisdom and understanding and that they might look to your Law to guide them in their lawmaking for our land.  In Jesus' Name we pray.  Amen.
