For Sandy's Victims

God of all compassion, who cares even if a single sparrow falls, we ask that the victims of hurricane Sandy might feel your closeness and not despair.  May your everpresent love give them encouragement; may your powerful Spirit give them courage and strength to persevere.  Help us to find ways that we, too, can reach out to help them to rebuild their lives.  Comfort those who have lost everything - especially loved ones through death.  Thus may your Spirit work through our lives.  In Jesus' Name we pray.  Amen.
