Thank You, Lord!

Glory be to you, O God, for all your goodness to us and to all your children.  For the world in which you have placed us, with all its wonder and beauty; for life and health, for food and clothing; for friends and homes; for Your care that guards us always, and your faithfulness, that never fails; most of all for Jesus Christ Your only Son our Savior, who came into this world and died for us upon the cross, and who has revealed to us, the love that passes knowledge, we thank and praise you, O God.  In Jesus' Name.  Amen.

Quicken and Refresh our Hearts

Grant us your Peace Lord.  Speak to each of us the Word that we need and let your Word abide in until our lives are guided every day by your Will.  Quicken and refresh our hearts, renew and increase our strength, so that in our daily life the Spirit of our Lord Jesus Christ might always be with us.  In His most blessed Name, we offer this prayer.  Amen.

Open The Dimensions of our Calling

O God, open the dimensions of our callng as Christians.  Make us bold to venture with your Spirit as we speak and work.  Empower us to live at peace with all people.  Endue us with a longsuffering spirit, and through it bestow some quick insight of faith to all who watch us.  Through gentleness make us able to enlist the interest and affection of the young.  Form within us the spirit of meekness so that through patient waiting, evil moods may flee.  May we commend the gospel unto others because of our exceeding joy in our Lord Jesus Christ.  It's in his Name that we pray.  Amen.

Come Into Our Hearts

Merciful Redeemer, by being lifted up on the cross, you have lifted the fallen and have given hope where our faith has been threatened by the unbelief of the world; save us into the completeness and goodness of your Kingdom.  Restore the joy of salvation in our hearts.  Enthral our souls with the silent splendor of your Spirit's influence.  Life blossoms forever new because of your presence with us.  Come into our hearts and make your presence known!  Thank you, Lord Jesus.  Amen.

Bless This Day

Eternal God, you have called us to serve you in our generation; inspire us to use this day to glorify your Name and to bring your Love to all peoples.  Bless this day with your presence at our side always, showing us the way that our feet should go.  Lift us into the realm of faith and hope and love, that we may be faithful in our service, and patient in our disappointments.  Use us, O Lord, in your most blessed service.  In Jesus' Name.  Amen.

Influence Our Spirits

Almighty and Eternal One, our hearts convict us before your divine presence because we have so often followed the whims and wishes of our own hearts instead of listening to your voice.  Your Ways are holy; purge our prayers of selfish thoughts.  Lord of all, pardon us for breaking life into fragments, forgetting the whole to which we all belong.  Your works are righteous, deliver us from injustice to our neighbors.  Your Love pleads from the cross; cleanse us of hatred and self-rigteousness which quench the fires of compassion.  In Jesus' Name we pray.  Amen.

Touch The Candles of Our Spirits

Eternal God, whose light the brightness of the day cannot comprehend and whose presence the shadows of the evening cannot hinder; we come into your presence this day to commune in the spirit with You.  Touch the candles of our spirits and make them gleam with faith.  Let your Spirit, revealed so fully in our Lord's deathless life, burn away the dross of sin.  Illumine us with a faith that cannot be hid.  In Jesus' Name we offer this prayer.  Amen.

Deliver Us

O God, whose grace is sufficient for all our needs; Deliver us from all discouragement, disappointments, fears ,  frustrations, selfishness and sorrow that might enslave us.  Cause us to focus our attention on Jesus Christ, your Son and our Savior, who has conquered both life and death, and give us the victory which overcomes the world through Him.  In his most blessed name we do pray.  Amen.

Thanksgiving for Christ Jesus

O Loving God, source of all that we hope for: We thank you that in your loving kindness you blessed us with the assurance of Eternal Life through th sacrifice of your Son, Jesus Christ.  May we live lives as those who have been saved from the evil powers of this world, and who walk in your Way always!  In Jesus Name we pray.  Amen.

Guardian Angels

Loving God, we praise you for your renewing touch in our lives; for your forgiving grace in Jesus Christ; for visions which give us holy thoughts; for inner promptings which purify our desires; for memories which recall our vows; for insights which keep us from foolish ways; for reminders of your Word, which save us in times of temptation and for prayers spoken in our behalf, which like guardian angels, guide us into nobler life.  Accept our praise and thanksgiving.  We pray in the Name of Jesus Christ our Lord and Savior.  Amen.. 

Courage to Choose and Nurture Life

O God, Creator and Preserver of all - we humbly ask that you show us your ways: that we might be part of yor saving grace for all peoples.  We pray for the church universal - that it may be guided and governed by your Good Spirit that all who profess and call themselves Chrstians may be led into the way of truth, and have faith in unity of spirit and righteousness of life.  Give us the vision and courage to choose and nurture life, that we may receive your blessing.  Amen.

God of Refuge and Strength

God of Refuge and Strength, Lord of storm and calm, of day and night, of life and death; Grant to us faithful hearts directed to you and your unchanging love, that we may walk in humility all our days.  May we reflect your Love toward our neighbors, and remain faithful through all storms and troubles of thie life. This we ask in the name of Jesus Christ, Our Lord.  Amen.

For Spiritual Blessings

Most High God, our loving parent, infinite in majestuy, we humbly beseech you for all your children everywhere, that you give us a pure mind, perfect love, purity in heart, sincerity in conduct, strength in action and courage in distess.  In Jesus Name we pray.  Amen.

Give Us Grace to Perceive our Place in Life

Holy and Loving God, who created all things for a purpose and touched life with beauty; open our eyes to behond your glory and your wondrous will for our lives.  Don't let our sins prevent us from seeking your forgiveness.  Don't let our failures close our minds to the inspiration of your Holy Spirit.  Don't let the mysteries of life keep us from comprehending your truth.  Don't let our satisfaction with present blessings limit us in readiness to receive larger blessings.  Help us, O Lord, to search out your reasons for blessing us so richly as individuals and families.  Give us grace to perceive that place in life where we may glorify you.  In Jesus' Name we do pray.  Amen.

The Glory of a New Day

Holy and ever-loving God, whose blessings and protection are more than we can ask or think, we thank you for the glory and joy of this new day.  You fold back the mantle of the night and reavel the lit form of a new creation each day; take away the darkness of our souls and show us anew the image of what we were meant to be. In Jesus' Name we pray.  Amen.

For Those Who Suffer

Almighty and merciful God, who is the help of the helpless: Look down with your mercy on all the victims of the recent tornados, comfort them n their loss, help them find peace of mind to overcome their grief; give them resources through our generosity and that of relief agencies to rebuild their lives once again; give them patience in their suffering, and hope through the outpouring os love from their neighbors;  grant them a future of happiness and a closer walk with you in the days ahead.  In Jesus' name.  Amen.

Save Us From Faithlessness

O God, forever faithful to your covenant, we are weak but you are strong.  You have offered us your covenant which was given to us for our benefit to keep us on the right track in life and close to you in love.  Yet, in moments of doubt or despair, our trust in you wavers, and we lose sight of your purpose for our lives.  Then we look to the world for our salvation, and become lost altogether.  Forgive us, O Lord, for being like Peter on the Sea of Galilee, who looked away from his Lord, and sank because of his lack of faith.  Reach out to us now, in our time of doubt, and save us from faithlessness!  We pray in the Name of Jesus Christ our Lord.  Amen.

Teach Us To Serve

Giver of all good and gracious gifts, teach us to become more like you: help us to give and not to count the cost; to fight for righteousness and not to heed the wounds; to labor and not to ask for the easy way out.  We ask it in the name of Jesus, your perfect servant!  Amen.

Comfort For The Storm Victims

O God of all knowledge and might, we come to you in prayer today with our hearts weighed down with sorrow over the horrible tragedy that fell upon the storm victims yesterday morning.  We are overwhelmed with the enormity of destruction which such tornadoes can cause.  Hundreds of people have lost all that they had - reach out a hand of help to them, O Lord - even if that hand be ours!  May those who were injured find your healing power at work through the medical teams working for their health.  May those who lost loved ones not be clouded by questions of "why?!" but find in your presence the hope for the future which they need, and the comfort in the face of death which only you can provide.  May they not question your love, but see beyond the pain of their loss, to the life which no longer has sorrow or death or tears anymore.  We pray it all in the name of our Savior, Jesus Christ, our Lord.  Amen.
